Starting Broadcast of Japan Educational TV Programs for Al-Quds Educational TV funded by the Government of Japan
On October 5th, 2010, an opening ceremony was held for the improvement of Al-Quds Educational TV Programs and the starting broadcast of the Japanese Educational TV Programs through the Grant Assistance for Cultural Grassroots Projects (GCGP), with the attendance of Ms. Siham Al-Barghouthi, Minister of Culture, Ms. Lucy Nusseibeh, Director of Institute of Modern Media, Mr. Naofumi Hashimoto, Representative of Japan to the Palestine National Authority, and intellectuals from Al-Quds University.
The broadcasting of the Japanese TV programs started on October 6th and these TV program will be broadcasted until April 2015. Regarding the schedule of broadcasting, please inquire for AQTV: Ms.Kholoud Sayeh (k.sayeh@imm.ps)
Following is a description of the TV programs. All programs were dubbed into Arabic.
- “Project X : Innovators” (43 minutes, 15 programs)
Over the ages, drastic changes have taken place in the history and civilization of the human world. In every case, these changes have taken place as a result of planned Projects.
“Project X” focuses on the untold stories of organizations and groups. The series places the unacknowledged Japanese people behind the sense at center stage. These individuals, who express strong passion and thrive on a challenge, made the creative work of the postwar era a reality.
- “10 Minutes of Science” (10 minutes, 50 programs)
This series of programs was produced to enrich science studies at junior and senior high school levels, and to encourage a love of learning in students. Each series comprises five 10 minutes episodes, with each episode looking at a series theme in a new and distinctive way.
- “Puppet Theater” (15 minutes, 20 programs)
These stories, including classic fairy-tales and folk-tales from Japan and other countries, are idea for 3~4-year-olds. Featuring charming hand-operated puppets, these programs can enhance language ability as well as stimulate the imagination.

Grant assistance for Cultural Grassroots Project (GCGP) provides nonrefundable financial assistance to support the implementation of cultural and higher education projects conducted by non-profit organizations (including nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), local authorities, research and higher education institutions, etc.) that are active at the grass-roots level in developing countries.
GCGP directly supports the promotion of culture and higher education at the grass-roots level in developing countries.
